HO – HO

A close friend of mine has a grandson diagnosed as an Aspie, having become more enlightened on Aspberger’s Syndrome, I was prompted to post a critique of the TV programme Chasing Shadows.

Whilst researching material for this critique I came across a web site, written by an Angry Autie  who had posted an amusing piece with the title: The Institute for the Study of the Neurologically Typical.

The neurotypical people are a misunderstood people who suffer from a terrible mental syndrome and they need all the support that they can get. NT Syndrome, sometimes referred to as ‘mundane man malady,’ is a huge part of my life; my parents, my family, the vast majority of my friends, and even past girlfriends all have NT Syndrome but they’re learning to cope with it and I’m very proud of them all. It really warms my heart to see my loved ones trying to overcome their disorder. Angry Autie – The Institute for the Study of the Neurologically Typical.

I was particularly taken by AA’s later statement that people who suffer from NT Syndrome have no interest in trains. NONE. (AA’s emphasis). Actually AA is wrong on that point, I know many neurologically typical types who are train aficionados (he may of course be right if he actually means that all ‘train spotters’ are not NTTs. But then I always look for the names on the cab of Eddie Stobart trucks). :?

My friend’s grandson is very keen on trains but I don’t read too much into that. However, were he to visit St Petersburg he would certainly visit the Grand Maket Rossiya. I was reminded of this by some recent posts on My Telegraph relating a visit made to St Petersburg.

Bonus Tracks 🙂

And for the real aficionados 🙄

Many more model railway exhibitions
